Welcome to Illinois!
Veteran Student Support Services (VSSS), a unit within the Office of Student Success & Engagement, recognizes the selfless service and sacrifices made by members of our armed forces and the unique challenges associated with transitioning into a university setting. To support this transition, we are committed to providing Veterans, active duty personnel, National Guard and Reserve members and qualified dependents with the services necessary to pursue their academic and personal interests, explore different learning experiences, and integrate into the campus community.
News & Announcements
My name is Jason Sakowski and I am the Coordinator for Veteran Student Support Services. Like you, I am a veteran myself. I know how stressful service to student transition process can be and I want you to know that I am here to help serve you as you have served our country. Think of VSSS as your resource for navigating the University of Illinois successfully. I can help assist you in finding answers about financial aid needs, student housing, veteran benefits, and any other questions you may have about your college education.
Updated VSSS Office Hours
On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the Coordinator for Veteran Student Support Services will be located at the Center for Wounded Veterans from 8:30 am-5 pm.
Vet Success on Campus
My name is Jason Abrams and I am here to assist any veteran on campus that may have benefits questions; if you need referrals for services I can help. I can also work with campus staff and other VA resources to make sure that you have the resources you need to succeed on campus.
